Howdy! For those who don't know me, my name is Lanie. I am a 19 year old, incoming sophomore, K-6 Education Major at Texas A&M University. I decided to start this blog on a whim in hopes of pushing myself to discover a new side of me, a more creative, easy-going side if you will. So to get us started, I suppose I should share a few things about myself with y'all.

Like I have already stated, I am beginning my second year at Texas A&M University as a K-6 Education Major. I am so extremely in love with the campus, the people, and the atmosphere. I'm not even kidding when I say that I knew the minute that I stepped on campus, that I was going to be attending, even though I had been adamant up until that point about not moving off to college. Looking back, I do not regret my decision to come to A&M one bit.

I am currently living at home for the summer with my parents since I was in a dorm my freshmen year of college but in mid-August, I will be moving into an apartment in College Station with some of my best friends and I cannot be more excited. This summer, I have stayed busy being a nanny to a pre-teen in my hometown and it has been an absolute blast. Besides working, I have also been taking summer courses online through a local community college to get some classes out of the way. While I have loved every minute that I have been home, I have also missed the life that I have built in College Station and the friends that I have made while down there. It sometimes feels like I have two lives, like I am in love with two cities, and my heart is split on where it belongs.

In my free time, I love to stay busy whether it be going shopping, on bike rides or walks, to amusement and water parks, to sports events such as a baseball or football game or enjoying the outdoors. My favorite tv shows are Criminal Minds and Friends and my favorite movie is Steel Magnolias. I primarily listen to country music but I don't mind venturing out and listening to other genres depending on my mood or the setting. My favorite time of year is Fall because it is when my family celebrates a majority of birthdays, including my own, and I have always enjoyed the togetherness that my family's birthday celebrations has brought. My favorite colors are yellow and blue and my favorite holiday is Christmas because of the joy that surrounds it.

So I guess that about sums up me. If there is anything in particular that y'all are looking to see, just let me know and if not, then I hope y'all enjoy my page and getting to know just a little bit more about my daily adventures navigating the college life. I am looking forward to this next chapter of my life and cannot wait to share it with all of y'all.
